Introducing SPFA Energy: Illuminating South Africa’s Future
September 4, 2023We’re more than simply a team at Steel & Pipes for Africa—we’re a family. And we come together with love, laughter, and a little bit of fun when one of our own goes through difficult times!
One of our team members just started a brave and resilient journey of their own: fighting cancer. As a close-knit family, we decided to show our support for one another, not just verbally but also physically.
So, what did we do? Well, we took a few inches off the top!
Shaving Heads, Sharing Love
A group of us agreed to shave our hair as a sign of support and unity. It was about standing shoulder to shoulder and demonstrating our group’s resilience in the face of adversity, not simply about hair.
The sound of clippers buzzing filled our office as we transformed it into a buzzing hair salon, with clippers humming and laughter all around. We concluded that baldness has never looked better!
Green Hair, Don’t Care
We pulled out the fluorescent green hair spray for those who weren’t quite ready to part with their locks. Why choose green? It’s more than just a colour; it’s a declaration that embodies optimism, revival, and the lively spirit of our cancer-fighting comrade.
Our Office Transformed
That day, there was an electrifying vibe throughout the office. The sound of clippers buzzing and the occasional cheer when a teammate with a bright green mane of hair or a freshly shaved head appeared filled the corridors with laughter. It was about creating an atmosphere of love and support, not only about spreading awareness.
Beyond the Buzz & Green Mist
Although there was much excitement in the head-shaving and hair-spraying extravaganza, it was not a one-time thing. It signalled the start of an ongoing commitment to support our colleague.
SPFA: More Than a Workplace
Steel & Pipes for Africa is more than simply a company; we are a family that helps beyond the call of duty. It’s about supporting one another when confronting life’s bigger obstacles or working in the steel industry.
Not only did our lively, fun day of solidarity highlight cancer awareness, but it also highlighted the relationships that unify us. We laughed together in the face of hardship, demonstrating that our power lies in our togetherness even in the most trying times.
Our colleague knows they are not alone as they boldly tackle the road ahead. Here at SPFA, they have a family—a family with a lot of greener hair and fewer locks!
